What is web hosting?
Web hosting is storage space on a server that is connected to the internet around the clock. The files and databases of your website are stored there – visitors access them via your domain.
Which domain extensions can I register?
Common extensions such as .de, .com, .net, .org, .eu, .io and .gg – you find the full list with prices under “Prices”.
Can I transfer my existing domain?
Yes. You need the auth code from your previous provider and start the transfer in the customer portal.
Is SSL included?
Yes. SSL certificates for your domains are included at no extra cost in all web hosting plans and in the Website Builder.
Can I host several websites?
Yes – how many depends on the plan. The exact number is in the plan comparison.
Can I upgrade my hosting later?
Yes, directly in the customer portal. The bigger plan applies immediately; you only pay the prorated difference until the end of the term. Your data is kept.
Are there automatic backups?
From the Business plan we back up files and databases every night and keep the backups for 7 days – separate from the web server. You can restore yourself in the customer portal: completely, individual files and folders or a single database.
Can I manage my domain myself?
Yes. You edit DNS records and name servers yourself in the customer portal – or automated via our API.
Which payment methods are supported?
Credit card and other methods via Stripe, PayPal and – depending on activation – prepayment by bank transfer.
Is there a website builder?
Yes. With the Website Builder you design your website by drag & drop from templates – in three plans, add Shop Builder and CDN as needed.
