Updates every night

WordPress, plugins and themes are updated between 2 and 5 a.m. You decide what runs automatically.

Backup and rollback

Before every update we back up files and database. If the site is broken afterwards, we roll it back automatically.

Page cache out of the box

Pages for visitors come from the cache. Logged-in users, the shopping cart and the admin area are never cached.

Firewall out of the box

Web application firewall (OWASP rules) and blocking of known malicious bots are switched on – adjustable in the portal.

Vulnerability check

We check installed plugins and themes daily against a database of known security vulnerabilities.

What is the difference to normal web hosting?

With Managed WordPress, WordPress is already installed after ordering. We apply updates for WordPress, plugins and themes automatically at night; page cache and firewall are switched on out of the box. You still have full access to files, database and SFTP.

What happens if an update breaks my site?

Before every update we back up files and database. Then we call your home page – if it returns an error or a PHP crash, it is automatically reset to the state before the update and you get a message.

Can I switch off automatic updates?

Yes. In the customer portal under Web hosting → Apps you set per installation what is updated automatically, or switch it off completely.

Can I bring an existing WordPress site?

Yes. With the website move in the customer portal we fetch files and database automatically from your previous provider – you only enter the FTP/SFTP credentials (WordPress, Joomla and PrestaShop). Alternatively you move yourself via SFTP and database import.

Which plugins are allowed?

Basically all of them. We check installed plugins and themes daily against a database of known vulnerabilities and show you affected extensions in the portal.
