Nothing. You only pay for the products you order – for example web hosting, domains or the Website Builder.

The servers for web hosting and websites are in data centres in Germany. We operate VPS and dedicated servers at Hetzner in Germany or Finland.

By ticket in the customer portal. Our team answers in German and English; you get an email when we reply.

Storage, SFTP access, MySQL/MariaDB databases, current PHP versions and free SSL certificates. The exact values are in the plan overview.

Once payment is received we set up the plan automatically. As soon as it is ready, you get an email and set your SFTP password in the customer portal.

Yes, in the customer portal under “My products”. An upgrade applies immediately, you only pay the prorated difference until the end of the term. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the term. Your data is kept.

Not in the web hosting plans. We offer mailboxes as a separate product “Business Mail” – whether it can be booked yet, you see on the home page. Until then you can connect email with your domain via a provider of your choice.

Yes, via domain transfer with the auth code from your previous provider. For most extensions the term is extended by one year.

Yes. In the customer portal you manage A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA records as well as the name servers – via API too if you like.

Yes. When ordering, you choose 1 to 10 years. You can renew existing domains for several years in advance in the customer portal under Domains → Overview – up to a maximum of 10 years into the future. After that, the domain renews yearly again.

Domains renew automatically. We remind you by email beforehand; you can switch off automatic renewal in the portal.

No. You choose a template and change texts, images, colours and sections by drag & drop.

Website Start is enough for a small website with up to 20 pages. Website Plus offers more pages, more storage and AI credits, Website Pro includes three websites – e.g. for several brands or projects. You can switch at any time in the customer portal.

Yes. Shop Builder and CDN are add-ons to the website plans: you choose them directly when ordering or add them later in the customer portal under “My products”.

Yes, with a plan that includes own domains. Every website is also reachable at a free address.

Yes – by email and collected in the customer portal. You can reply directly from your mail program.

Not for the built-in visitor statistics: they set no cookies, store nothing on visitors’ devices and no IP addresses. Embedded content such as YouTube or Google Maps only loads after a visitor’s click.

Yes. Visitors sign up via the “Newsletter” section or the footer and confirm by email (double opt-in). In the customer portal you write the newsletter, send yourself a test email and send it to all confirmed subscribers – up to four issues a month, every email with an unsubscribe link.

Yes. The legal text assistant in the editor creates the legal notice and privacy policy from your details – matching the features your website uses. Before publishing, a legal check warns about missing details. The texts are a template and do not replace legal advice.

A website plan: the AI creates a finished website with pages, texts, colours and SEO details from your description. Hosting, an SSL certificate and connecting your own domain are included, plus AI credits for changes every month.

Every plan includes AI credits per month. Creating a website costs 10 credits, a change, SEO improvement or message to the assistant 1 credit, translating a page 2 credits. Credits are only charged for usable results.

Yes. The result is a perfectly normal website in the editor – you change all sections, texts, images and colours by click, just like in the Website Builder.

Both use the same editor and the same hosting. With the Website Builder you start with a template; with Hoster AI the AI builds the first version from your description – and the plans include more AI credits.

No. We only log usage figures (number, credits used, duration), not the content of your requests.

It only reads the data of your own account. It merely suggests actions such as cancelling or deleting – they are only carried out when you click the confirmation button.

Hoster.gg only charges for the shop plan – no commission per sale. The fees of your Stripe account apply to payment processing.

You. Payments go through your own Stripe account, invoices carry your details. Hoster.gg only provides the technology.

Yes. The Shop Builder is an add-on to a website or Hoster AI plan – products and cart appear in your site’s design. You add it when ordering or later in the customer portal.

Yes. Catalogue, cart and checkout also work without JavaScript in the buyer’s browser.

No. Business Mail is a separate product with its own plans – you can use it with or without web hosting.

Yes. You confirm ownership with a TXT record and set the displayed DNS records at your previous provider. If the domain is at Hoster.gg, it takes one click.

No. We never change an existing third-party SPF record automatically – the DNS table shows you the matching record and you decide yourself.

With all common mail programs via IMAP and SMTP (e.g. Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, smartphone) – or in the browser via webmail.

Yes. If you order a web hosting plan and the matching Business Mail plan together, the cart automatically applies a bundle discount to the first term of both plans.

No. Share links work without a Hoster.gg account – with password and expiry date if needed.

All files including older versions and files in the recycle bin. If you empty the recycle bin, the space is freed immediately.

30 days in the recycle bin. After that they are deleted permanently.

Yes. You back up websites from the Website Builder to the cloud with one click in the website settings, including all images.

Files such as images, scripts and pages are cached at many locations and delivered to your visitors from there. This shortens routes and takes load off your server.

For subdomains such as www.example.com yes. The main domain (example.com) cannot be pointed to a CNAME under the DNS standard – best redirect it to www.

We notify you at 80 and 100 % of the monthly included volume. Your website is not switched off; if you permanently need more, switch to a bigger CDN plan in the customer portal.

No. The CDN is an add-on to a website or Hoster AI plan – choose it when ordering or add it later in the customer portal under “My products”.

Yes, at any time in the portal. For Hoster.gg domains we reset the DNS records to their previous state.

Currently GitHub via the Hoster.gg GitHub app. You only release the repositories Hoster.gg should see.

The previous version stays live. You see the error in the log, and Hoster AI can explain the likely cause on request.

The time your builds run per calendar month. How many are included is shown in the plan comparison; you see your usage in the portal.

They are stored encrypted, never shown in the browser again and only passed to the build as a protected secret – they are redacted in logs.

Backup Pro is an add-on for web hosting plans. You book it in the customer portal under “My products” on the respective web hosting contract.

Every night all files and databases of your web space. The backups are stored separately from the web server and kept for 30 days.

In the customer portal under Web hosting → Backups: reset individual files or folders, a database or the whole web space to the state of a backup.

The add-on ends at the end of the term. New backups are then kept as long as your web hosting plan provides; existing ones expire on their previous date.

In data centres in Germany – in Frankfurt or Cologne. When ordering you choose processor and location; each location has its own hardware.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D with DDR5 and NVMe is the fastest per core – good for game servers, shops and databases. AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon are cheaper and usually perfectly sufficient for websites, VPN, bots or test systems.

After payment the server is provisioned – usually within a few minutes. In individual cases we briefly review an order first; then you see “Under review” in the portal. As soon as it runs, you get a message and see the root password once in the portal.

The configuration applies for the booked term. If you need more performance, write us a support ticket – or order a second server.

No. A VPS is an unmanaged server: you have root access and are responsible for updates and backups yourself. You create backups of the whole server in the portal – but they don’t replace your own backups.

You choose a free machine, the operating system and the hostname. After payment we order the machine in the data centre and the system is installed – you get a message as soon as you can log in.

Each offer is a single physical machine. Once it is taken, it disappears from the list – new machines are added continuously.

Start, shut down, restart and hard restart via the power bar, the console in the browser, credentials, reinstallation and reverse DNS.

No. You are responsible for backups yourself – ideally to storage outside the server.

Credit card and other methods via Stripe as well as PayPal. Depending on activation, prepayment by bank transfer is also possible. You find invoices as PDF in the customer portal.

Contracts renew at the end of the term. We remind you by email beforehand and – if stored – charge your saved payment method. You can cancel at the end of the term.

We inform you and try again after a few days. If the invoice remains unpaid, the product is paused after a grace period and reactivated automatically after payment.

Yes, all prices on the website are final prices; whether VAT is included is stated directly at the price and on the invoice.

Passwords are stored with Argon2, two-factor login is available and you get an email for security-relevant changes.
