Set up and manage a VPS
VPS is available as its own plan (Portal → VPS, appears with a VPS contract). After ordering, “Set up server”: choose name (hostname), location (Falkenstein, Nuremberg or Helsinki), operating system and SSH key – you add SSH keys (only the public part, e.g. ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub) in the VPS overview. Without a key there is a root password that can be shown once within 24 hours. The server is usually ready after one to two minutes. On the server page: start, restart, shut down, power off, console in the browser, reinstallation (system or snapshot – deletes all data), new root password, reverse DNS for the IPv4 and addresses from the IPv6 network, firewall (incoming ports; outgoing is fully open), snapshots (number per plan) and usage of the last 24 hours. A bigger plan applies after paying the difference; the server is briefly shut down for this. The disk cannot be shrunk. Updates and backups within the system are your responsibility.
